Tontie was a mile stone for me. I've been living off and on in Nashville for almost two years and still have not had the chance to see a show at the Grand Ole Opry. But tonite I made that dream a reality. I remeber being 18 or 19 and watching Keith Urban and Brad Paisley preforming on GACs broadcast of the Grand Ole Opry Shows on Saturday nights. Ever since then I've allways wanted to see a show, especially since I made the desicion to move to Nashville. Serving tables right across from the Grand Ole Opry, I wait on lots of couples, famliys and friends that are going to see a show when I work on tuesday or Saturday night. For a while I've almost envied them because I had not yet attended. So a new friend of mine I was introduced too through my brothers GF asked me if I wanted to go see Rascal Flatts at the Grand Ole Opry a couple of weeks ago. It wasn't even a question for me. I knew this was a chance to see the Opry for the first time. My friend, Desiree had never been to a show either. We were both very excited. My car brokedown the other day so she agreed to drive. But I bought the tickets. I don't need to state the obvious that I like her and she likes me and it was a date aswell as just two friends going to see a country music show. It felt so right though going with someome who was also enjoying it for the first time. We ate the best kettle cooked pop corn I've ever had, and I drank a bud light draft with a lime. The whole expeirence was very surreal for me. Hearing the commcerials, and watching the engeneiir behind the soundboard made it all seem like a wierd dream. It felt right though. It was special. Rascall Flatts was amazing. They blew any expectations I had into the stratisphere and convinced me of their real talant. I only get to see them on youtube, or CMT, and even though they look just like that in real life, it still looks diffrent. Or maybe it just feels like that. Maybe its knowing that your in the balcony behind the soundbloard at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville TN. This is the real thing. Kellie Pickler preform aswell as Montgomery Gentry. Both acts spectacular. And the country music dream is tangible. Mark Wills open the show and redeemed himself with me for his overtley catchy, over produced country singles I use to listen to on Big Frog 104 in Syracuse NY. Spending the evening with Desiree and doing something I love, Music, was all I needed from life at that moment. I'll never forget the curtan comming up and the lights going down and watching countyr music starts take the stage in real time and real life! I've come along way from that boy back home whos only exposure to these acts and songs and music was through some form of media on a computer or a TV screem. I have a new friend that I'm looking forward to getting to know, and I know I'll be going to alot of Grand Ole Opry shows this summer. Thank you for reading and check out pictures I uploaded from my IPONE to FB.

So I havent bloged in a very long time. Probably severl months at least. I was actually inspired to blog this rain sunday morning by a co worker at the resturant I'm currently working at. Her name is Danielle. She blogs, has a twiiter, a FB, plays a lil guitar, and travels alot more than I do. Shes all in all just a very well rounded person. An extremely postive and ambitous young woman from what shes told me at work and from what I've read on her blog. She even has her own website, which I need to get for myself. But anyway she inspired me to blog and talk a little bit about whats been happing in my life, or my music life I should say. In one of her latest blog entrys she talks about having three interviews with whatever company it was. I think shes in the Advertising field, but not sure exactly what she does. Thats not the point though. What she talked about in her blog entry that inspired me was her very postive attidue towards the interviews for her job no moatter what the ultamite outcome may be. Danielle basiclly sais that even if she does not get any one of those three jobs, that she at least had an amazing expeirence doing the interviews. The week in which she had these interviews she leared alot about the company she wants to work for, and alot about just taking what life has to offer. Well maybe she didn't say the life has to offer part, but thats what I want to blog about. The Point is that weather or not things went exactly her way, she can take from it a learning expeirence and she wont let herself get down if hse doesnt get the job. So the way I'm relating it to myself is with my musical life. I really want a carrear in music. If its songwriting fine. If its producing fine. If its being a rockstar and touring 250 days the rest of my life, well, that would be awesome lol. But no matter what happens I am allways learning new things, meeting new people, and comming up with new ideas. Its the best life I can ever lead. Just to learn and try my best to accopmlish my goals. Some would say that my dreams r a little out of reach. And I would agree at times. But then other times, when I preform infront of a new crowd and they don't really dig my songs, I don't get down. My self confidence and my will to succeed is stronger than my depressed moods after a long week at work and trying to play out in Nashville. Like with my co worker and her Job interviews, I have a my first gig comming up. Its the first of many. And I know that. My one gig comming up is not going to make or break me. I need to take from it what I can and learn as much as I can as I go through the process of booking it, promoting it, getting people there, and practicing and ultamily killing it on stage. I mean I have to be great. I really want to be great and I want the recogintion every musican wants. But I suppose my main point is I need to be greatful like my co worker for what I am doing. I cannot worrie about what might happen, what might not happen. Just live in the moment I guess. Which is kinda hard for me at times cause I've got one foot in the past and one on the future and I'm pissing all over right NOW!!! But I do not want to live like that if I can help it. Today I'm going to inspire somebody else with my positive attidue and my hard work. I really need to blog more cause now I feel so good. Well I need to iron my cloths for work and get dressed. Mothers day and its raining. I'll be surprized if the universe does not let me make lots of money. PS.. I just want to say that I make more than I dereve sometimes. If you, the reader, or my friend, or someone I work with or just a complete stranger that hates my blogs and my music need help with anything please ask. I will try to be of service to someone else besides myself today. Peace love, and euphoric serenity.

Breaking Bad is awesome

So my dad introduced me to this show called Breaking Bad. It is the most awesome show I've ever seen. I'm sure everyone knows what it is about. I guess I'm really out of the loop because I never heard of it before my dad introduced me to it.
So I really took to the character Jesse Pinkman played by Aaron Paul. Overall I thought the acting was fucking fantastic. But I really could relate to Jesse Pinkman and alot of his struggles. Hes just a lovable drug addict that has this human element we can all relate too.
Breaking Bad defiantly changed what I thought TV was. Two and a Half Men was my only show other that the occasional Mad Men episode. But now I am totally hooked on Breaking Bad. Thank you dad! lol. I'm just baffled that my dad found it before I did.
Now I'm not gonna lie and say that the whole drug and criminal theme didn't draw me in immediately. Cause it did. But the whole idea of a high school chemistry teacher gone murder and meth manufacture really attracted me to it. I wonder if I could do some of the things Walter White does? Some of it seems so far fetched, but again its just an awesome TV show.
So I think everyone should check out Breaking Bad. Especially my brother Andrew Marlowe who like doesn't get in to anything I like.
So fuck you bro, you should defiantly check this shit out. And the season four soundtrack is awesome. Check it out at youtube.com/charlesmarlowe27

New Songs are up online!

So everyone, I've been working really hard on some new productions the last month or so. Ever since I got my new laptop and recording equipment I've been up all night trying to get these new tracks together. My first song is a euro dance style instrumentle called Love Never Dies. It features the Eurogate 3 in FL Studio 10, and I fell in love with that sound. The lead is the Hands Up lead sound in FL Studio 10. Definatly a Basshunter inspired song.
And my two new singles are Your Turnin Me On and I'm in Love with a Youtube Star. Both are available FREE to download at my reverbnation.com/charlesmarlowe. I'm very proud of both songs though they are both totally diffrent other than the techno basslines.
I'm in Love with a Youtube Star features myself playing electric guitar, giving the song what I felt like was a grungy rock sound over the FL Studio beats I made. Yes, I did write the song one night after watcing Jenna Marbles videos and thinkin how cool id be to write a song about a Youtube Star. The lyrics are kinda stalkerish, but I think it works. Let me know if I'm wrong.
Your Turnin Me On is defenatly a more dance kind of song, even though its slower than Youtube star. The slide show is available at youtube.com/charlesmarlowe27. The pictures for my slide show were provided by Joshua T Potter.
Joshua is awesome. He takes really good photographs, and we've been seeing him out with his camera at Trexx night club. Check him out at carjunkyphotographer.blogspot.com
So if you use myspace, facebook, youtube, or twitter, my music is available and ready for the listeners. I plan on taking my music in a dance, electronic direction, so any sugestions musically, or on gear, or software programs would be apreciated.
Happy Halloween everyone!

The quest of Recording at Home

So since I've got all my new recording equipment I've been cooped up inside all day and night trying to produce my Techno album and having to do my brothers metal album. to say the least I've been staying busy.
Within two or three weeks I've been able to do some decent demos but I am a perfectionist when it comes to my own music. Somedays I get down, frustrated and discouraged. But I keep going because I must!
I may never be able to compete with the majors as far as the quality of my productions, but I can colaborate and use my own musical intuition and still strive for greatness.
I'm hoped up on energy drinks right now, so I suppose I'm rambling. But I am super excited about recordming with my brother and my friends and releasing a final project online. I have to. You cannot live off of yesterdays sucsess.
